After a few days at home

Looking for free time can be difficult after arriving back from bring on the road. As much as I'd love to take some fun runs to make up for snowboarding with my camera bag all season, there is always a handful of shit that can be done to keep me busy. Bills, emails and washing my dirty undies is the usual procedure when home. Now I was ready to go to my next destination "Michigan". This picture and polaroids were shot while waiting for hours at the airport in Grand Rapids, MI because our filmer "Jake Zalutsky" couldn't hold his alcohol and had missed his flight to ft from his hotel room. What else can you do while waiting around bored as fuck in an airport besides make the best of your wasted time!!

Stoked on Smiley

After 1 solid week of shooting, sledding and cracking jokes it is always time to move on. Even though I wanted to stay shooting with Scotty since we were getting tons of work done! But there is still something called a schedule and for me it is loose as all hell, for Scotty he is next to impossible to schedule time with him especially after the olympics. When Scotty and I get some time to work 1 on 1, basically I say, "stay here and go nowhere" and it usually works out!

Passing the Time

Everyday after long hours of sledding and snowboarding it is always time to kick off the boots and try to relax a bit if possible. With so much time and energy wasted thinking about more shots some times you need to relax and go with it. Here is Scotty passing some time one sluggish morning in Smiley Creek Idaho with his harmonica.

Another day with the homies

I love being able to go out with a non stressing crew and start to enjoy the day. I love being able to ride in blower powder and chill with friends. Scott Stevens just does weird shit straight up, you never know what he is thinking when looking at a jump. Shayne Pospisil is all about getting white roomed in the perfect conditions. Trip is going awesome!!

This is how we did it

Every morning we would start off with a killer breakfast then gas up while loading up our guns and get ready for a solid day of rallying the snowmobiles, shredding and cracking jokes. Every day we would hope for bluebird skies and safe conditions. This trip was tons of fun even though there were at times 12 of us gathering around 1 jump. kinda crazy but we managed to get work done.

Smiley Creek Idaho

After being in Tahoe for 2 days it was time to go meet up with Scotty and get some shots rolling in the backcountry on a Smith Team Trip. This place is awesome with a very laid back atmosphere. Every morning eat breakfast, gas up the sled, cruise out 15 miles into heaven and spend the day making laughs and capturing good times.

Some Inspiration

I grabbed this off of my Iphone at Wes Jones house! After a few days of hanging out with friends I cruised by Flow then the next day duty called to be back in Tahoe. I was on my way to the beach and got a turn around call to repack and be out right away back to south lake.

San Diego and the Tsunami Warning

So Cal is an awesome place to break up some time and enjoy some of the finer things in life like burritos, waves and good friends! I have to shout out a big thanks all of 1010 who went thru a recent divorce and relocation change. Encinitas is the new territory where my buddys now reside and where my couch got relocated to as well. To "Reg Bob" and his roommates from SurfRide thank you for the couch space, mini ramp and a cool environment! Eric and Wes you dudes are the shit, and Cole maybe schedule works out better next time!

4 days of cruising at home

After all the running around it is always nice to arrive back in Lake Tahoe. I love going back to my house and being able to soak in the fresh air and see the blue skies for a few days in between trips while trying to catch up on computer work and relax then this time my buddy Robbie and I took the 9 hr drive down to San Diego to meet up with all my homies and get our much needed time in the ocean!!

Finally making it home

So the day I was leaving this was a very hectic day.. no bullshit! First off we had to be rowed back to the dock, load up the van and start the 20 miles drive to the airport. As you get within 5 miles of the airport everyone has to unload the car put everything through security, get the car bomb scanned and go through a medal detector. Reload the car after the bomb dogs had a field day with my equipment then continue to drive past 1,000s of machine guns pointed at you. Get ripped off flying my overweight bags then get escorted by dude with machine guns onto the plane. Off to New Delhi for 4 hours for dinner and back to another airport. Almost got arrested in New Delhi after security threw my laptop case with my hard-drives of the whole trip. Followed by a 16 hr flight to Chicago then a 5 hr layover followed by a 4 hr flight to reno then a 4 hr drive home due to traffic.. A long day for sure.. Damn it feels nice to be back in Tahoe for 4 days!!

This guy is Classic

So as I was being rowed around Dal Lake in Srinagar India, I saw this classic dude rowing himself around the lake while smoking a hookah. This was a first for me to see and probably for you to absorb also. This was shot on my last day of the trip before the 30 plus hours of traveling to get home.

People love to have there photos taken in India

I was so fortunate to travel to India for 2 weeks for shooting a story on behalf of Transfer Snowboarding. What I was super excited for this trip and to capture portraits as often as I could. A camera was always around my neck when driving or walking around the new area just wanted to capture unique people and there personalities. Also if someone wasn't into you photographing them all you had to do was apologize then show them an image of them and your back into shooting with them.
